Just like any other location in the world there are certain things you need to consider when looking for property for sale in Majorca. All decisions, in the end, always come down to personal requirements, and price.
For most people the big deciding factor is price. There is no point in considering 10 bedroom mansions if you just do not have the huge sum's required to purchase a house like that. Estate agents will tell you that they still receive inquiries from people asking what they can buy on the island for £15,000 or £20,000. The answer is a space in an underground parking garage possibly.
In truth, people may have been watching a re-run of one of those, 'buy a place in Spain' shows, because not all that long ago properties were available in the many parts of Spain for those prices. In reality, it has been very many years, since property for sale in Majorca, has been available at anywhere near that price.
A quick Google search will provide an enormous number of agents, with huge selections of properties in all the available price ranges. Nearly all agents now do not even have the option to search below £100.000 and quite often have little or nothing available near the £100.000 mark. A more realistic price range is now £200.000, and up. This would be the range for a very small attached building, like a town house, or a small apartment, in a reasonable area. From there of course you can continue adding to the price depending on your requirements.
A nice villa, with a pool, in a good location is now in a much higher range £500,000 or even a lot more. The time of 'cheap' property for sale in Majorca is well and truly over. This is now a legitimate, higher class resort island, on a par with the Caribbean, and other, exotic hotspots around the globe.
If price is not your first priority, but quality, location, and facilities are, then this may be the spot for you. Villas on the island can now often reach into the multi million pound range. These ultra luxury accommodations, offering stunning views, as well as every conceivable facility, such as sauna, tennis courts, bowling alleys and cinemas. No wonder then that celebrities from Europe, and beyond, have purchased exotic properties on Majorca. Peter Stringfellow, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Schumacher to name but a few who have.
