Whenever you are in a new place the best thing that you can do for yourself is find a map of that place and if you are able to get your hands on a map that gives all the information that you want to know then you would be able to find your way around much better.

A map of Australia would be a major resource that would enable you to find your way around without too much trouble. Although a map of Australia on paper is not much use unless you know exactly where you want to go and what you want to do.

As a casual or a first time tourist you need a map of Australia that is going to provide you not only with information about the various locales in Australia but also with additional information about a particular region such as the local specialty, weather conditions, the tourist attractions and many other tidbits that would make your stay more interesting.

The visit NSW website: Another rather colorful link that takes you to a very drab grey colored map of Australia that you allows to access information about the various regions by clicking on the respective region on the map of Australia itself. This map is better in every sense of the word. However since the regions have not been named it would difficult for a first timer to interpret, but if you know the area a little bit or have been there before it is a great resource.

3. The lonely Planet Website: The lonely planet guys have really outdone themselves with this product. The lonely planet is one of the longest running shows on TV that provides the casual tourist with enough information about a particular place that he or she can have a safe trip on any budget. The best part is that since the lonely planet guys do their own research and validate everything you can be rest assured that the whole situation is not going to turn out to be some kind of nightmare on Elm Street. Their map of Australia is outstanding. Enough said. Take a look for yourself and have a look at some of their guides to Australia as well, just an outstanding publication on the whole.

4. http://www.atn.com.au/ : An official website that gives you a lot of much needed information. Since the Map of Australia is provided on the first page itself and the regions clearly divided and labeled you would be able to access information more easily. Clicking on a region takes to more information about that site the interactive process can be quite enriching. Give this webiste a go when you are planning your adventures. It's good. Almost as good as the lonely planet one.

Australia is simply a massive country and there is no escaping the fact that you will need a map to really get from point A to point B safely. So don't take shortcuts and make sure your really plan your trips and always travel with lots of water in the car.
