Moscow, Palma holiday flights

BALEARIC President, Francesc Antich said yesterday that it was a “good first move” in encouraging Russian holidaymakers to come to the Islands that Siberian Airlines have set up a direct and regular flight between Moscow and Palma.
Antich was speaking yesterday in Moscow after he and Tourism and Employment Minister, Joana Barcelo met during the morning with the Commercial Director of Siberian Airlines which is to operate the first regular weekly flight, starting on Friday of next week.
He and Barceló also met with tour operator Elena Sadkova (pictured). The Balearic President is currently forming part of an official delegation visiting Moscow to market the Balearic holiday offer to a population with increasingly more money to spend on tourism. Alexander D. Zhukov, Vice-President of the Russian Federation gave an official welcome toAntich and his party and said he hoped the visit would “bring closer relations” between Spain and Russia.
